Personal Retreats are designed to meet your needs and fit your schedule. We also provide Day Retreats for Groups.
The Christview Ministries Center offers guest lodging for 1 to 3 people who want to stay overnight or longer. We recommend at least 48 hours for a retreat to really rest and receive the most from God. Individual, couples, and even groups of 3 friends can come and enjoy solitude and silence for their whole time of retreat. Or you can, in addition to your private prayer times, arrange for Spiritual Direction sessions with Judy Turner and/or Bible study sessions with John Turner, and/or Mentoring sessions with both John and Judy.
For more information please see our FAQ below.
The daily schedule of a retreat is simple: we recommend alternating times of prayer with scripture (we provide guidance on how to pray with scripture), with times of “just being” with God by doing things you enjoy, like sitting on the deck and looking over the valley, taking walks in nature, listening to music, creating a drawing or working with clay, working a jigsaw puzzle, etc. The idea of “just being” time is to rest and enjoy God’s presence and be open to any way God desires to communicate with you. Getting plenty of rest, with sleeping as late as you want and taking naps if you get drowsy, are also important aspects of retreat.
Christview Ministries is supported by donations, and we offer retreats on the basis of suggested donation. (No one is turned away based on inability to make the suggested donation. People able to donate more than the suggested donation make our services available for others who cannot pay.)
Suggested donations for personal retreats: $40.00 per night for lodging, $10.00 per meal (most retreat guests provide their own breakfast and lunch) and $40.00 per hour for Spiritual Direction, Bible Study, or Mentoring sessions.
Most guests are housed in the Retreat Guest Suite which is very comfortable for one or two guests and includes a bedroom, bath, kitchenette, and living/dining area. There is also another bedroom where we can house a third guest. Most guests bring their own food for breakfast and lunch and snacks. The kitchenette has a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffee pot. John and Judy often provide a home-cooked evening meal, which can either be enjoyed in silence, or shared with conversation around the table. The conversation is often as enriching for our spirits as the food is for our bodies!
Jesus still invites His followers to “Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while.” (Mark 6:31) When we accept His invitation and spend time with Him, He draws us closer. He restores us in body, mind, and spirit. He gives us what we most need to live in greater love, freedom, peace, and joy.
These are some comments from people who have come to Christview on retreat:
“Thanks so much again for the wonderful weekend retreat! I did not realize how tired I was and in need of silent time to reconnect and talk with God. I also appreciated getting to visit and talk with both of you and loved sharing stories over dinner. I felt the closeness of kindred spirits. The hospitality and care you put into Christview, so that every aspect ministers, is a beautiful thing.” Cheryl Sybrant
“Your place was the ideal setting for me to stop and listen to my Heavenly Father. Getting away from the noise and chaos allowed me to hear His voice and let His love fill my heart. My time with Him at Christview Ministries was priceless and has improved my perspective. Thank you for the relaxation, quiet direction, and loving counsel. Your ministry is truly one of a kind and God breathed.” Twyla Francis
“Thank you, thank you, thank you for providing a safe harbor to a weary soul. The Lord has brought rest, the comfort of His Presence. He has also given loving care through delicious food, wise counsel, and solitude. May God’s richest blessings be yours as you continue in the work and ministry He has called you to.” Lisa Pospisil
